Every Upcoming Anne Heche Project That Can Still Be Released

There are a few projects starring Anne Heche that are slated to release after her untimely passing. Anne Heche was pronounced legally dead at the age of 53 by the State of California on August 12, 2022, due to severe injuries sustained from a car accident. The accident left Ms. Heche in a coma since the accident on August 5th. In her lifetime, Heche starred in many projects including Volcano, Donnie Brasco, Wag the Dog, and Six Days, Seven Nights. She also earned an Emmy nomination for her work as Rowena Larson in Gracie's Choice. Heche is also notable for her voice work, playing Suyin Beifong in The Legend of Korra and Cherry Cream Soda Gal in Adventure Time.

Heche worked mainly in television in the 2010s and 2020s, starring in various TV movies, shows, and miniseries. Her most prominent recurring roles were in Chicago P.D. as Superintendent Katherine Brennan, The Brave as Patricia Campbell, and Aftermath as Karen Copeland. Amidst her TV work, Heche did star in a handful of films. One of her more notable film works was My Friend Dahmer, the 2017 biographical drama about the childhood of the infamous serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer in which Heche played Dahmer's mother, Joyce. Other well-received film works include the Civil Rights period piece The Best of Enemies and the black comedy Catfight alongside Sandra Oh and Clueless star Alicia Silverstone.

Heche's extensive catalog of work will continue to grow after her passing. There are a few projects slated to be released by the end of 2022 and beginning of 2023, with a number of projects still in post-production waiting for an announced release date. Here is everything that Heche may star in posthumously that is yet to be released.

Girl in Room 13

Not to be confused by the 1960 movie of the same name, Girl in Room 13 is expected to be released on Lifetime in September 2022 as of writing. Heche will be playing Janice, a mother who must rescue her daughter Grace after she becomes a victim of human trafficking. Based on true events, Girl in Room 13 will also star Larissa Dias as Grace and Max Montesi as Richie, the drug dealer who sells Grace into trafficking.

What Remains

Starring alongside Kellen Lutz, who's known for playing Emmett Cullen in theTwilight series, Heche will star in the crime drama What Remains. Shot primarily in Amarillo, TX, What Remains follows a pastor who faces the convict who killed his wife years prior and potentially committed a similar crime upon his return. What Remains is scheduled to be released in 2023.

Wildfire: The Legend of the Cherokee Ghost Horse

Wildfire: The Legend of the Cherokee Ghost Horse is loosely inspired by the 1975 Michael Martin Murphey song "Wildfire" and will star Heche as the character credited as Diana Jones. The main aspect that Wildfire takes from the song it draws inspiration is a horse named Wildfire that a young girl finds solace in after the death of her father, which haunts her with a sense of guilt. There is no release date yet for Wildfire: The Legend of the Cherokee Ghost Horse.

Full Ride

With promotional material yet to be released for the film, Heche will work alongside McKaley Miller, previously seen in the movie Ma, in the horror-thriller Full Ride. Hoping to get a letter of recommendation to attend Yale, Miller's character Eden attends a "Heaven and Hell" party that grows to become more sinister as the night goes on. As of writing, news about Heche's part in the film is yet to be revealed.

The Idol

Created together by Abel "The Weeknd" Tesfaye and Euphoria brainchild Sam Levinson, Anne Heche will be starring in the upcoming HBO Max TV series The Idol. Her costars will include Troye Sivan, Debby Ryan, and BLACKPINK singer Jennie Kim. Leading the series is Johnny Depp's daughter, Lily-Rose Depp, as an up-and-coming pop singer named Jocelyn who gets entangled with The Weeknd's character, a manipulative self-help guru leading a mysterious cult.

Supercell

One of Anne Heche's more significant upcoming projects is Supercell, starring Alec Baldwin and Skeet Ulrich. Sharing similarities to the disaster movie classic Twister, Supercell follows the character William Brody, a storm chaser following his respected late father's footsteps. Heche plays William's mother, Dr. Quinn Brody.

Chasing Nightmares

Anne Heche will play the character Claire in the prospective horror-thriller Chasing Nightmares. The film, which is yet to have a scheduled release date, follows a college student who has recurring nightmares about a masked man haunting a lake house that she discovers from a picture of her parents. Taking her friends to the lake house to see if her nightmares are ominously true, things take a darker turn that puts their lives at risk.
