People’s tribunal for murder of journalists opens at The Hague

A collective of advocacy groups aims to raise awareness of crimes against journalists.

Journalists around the world are frequently detained, kidnapped and even killed – simply for reporting the news.

In the past 30 years, at least 1,400 journalists have been killed. Yet most of those responsible for their deaths have faced no accountability.

A collective of advocacy groups has come together in The Hague to raise awareness of the issue, but will it be enough to turn this around?
