Easy steps to make your own toy of The Meep: Making the body

**Watch Abby making The Meep, video instructions coming after the show!**

Step 1: First things first, you will need to lay out both your socks and cut them in half just underneath the ankle. Use the first sock to match the size of your second sock.

Step 2: You might need a grown up's help for this bit as we're going to start with a little bit of sewing. Turn your first sock inside out and sew the two socks together at the bottom. Leave a small gap so that you can fill the socks with the stuffing.

Step 3: Push one sock into the other and begin filling your Meep with stuffing through the gap you left earlier. Once stuffed, sew up the gap. Your Meep is beginning to take shape!

Step 4: We've given you a template to print out or copy above, just click the download button! Once you have your template, cut out the shapes for the ears, eyes, mouths and noses. This should help guide you for the shapes and sizes you'll need from your felt and fabrics.

Decorate your Meep!

Step 5: Once you've cut out the bits and pieces from your felt and fabric using the template as a guide, you can begin to glue the template shapes for the eyes, mouths and noses onto your felt or fabric and then stick them on to your Meep's body.

As a guide for which colours to use for each part: The outer eye is pink, the inner eye is yellow and the pupil is a small black button. The inner ears and noses are pink and the mouths are black. The teeth on fierce Meep are white.

As always with our Blue Peter makes, you can feel free to get creative with what you have! There's no reason your Meep can't have green eyes made out of fabric from old tshirts, for example!

Step 6: Attach the ears!
If you would like a fluffier and sturdier ear for your Meep: Glue the ear templates to the cutoffs from the sock in step 1 and cut out the shape. Then fold it so that the ear is inside out and sew it from the corner all the way round leaving a small gap, then turn the ear inside out to reveal a seamless ear, hiding the stitches.
If you'd like to make this step easier, you could simply glue or sew some white felt to make your Meep's ears instead!

The finished Meep!

Once you've sewn or glued on your Meep's nose, eyes, mouth and teeth and even attached the ears... Your Meep is ready!
