Change Guide: Go Explore is becoming CBeebies Little Learners

The app design will change and it will look look more similar to our other CBeebies apps such as CBeebies Playtime Island, CBeebies Storytime and CBeebies Get Creative. We hope you will really enjoy the new version of the app, as by joining forces with BBC Bitesize, the app will be even more rooted in learning and it will be even easier to find a learning activity for your child.

Here at CBeebies, we know that change can be difficult for some children so we wanted to create a guide for parents, guardians and carers to help support and prepare their little ones for this change to the app. For more support on dealing change we also have some information here.

New Name and New Logo

The CBeebies Go Explore app will now be called CBeebies Little Learners. To coincide with the new name change, there will be a new CBeebies Little Learners app logo. This will appear when the app first loads in the intro screen.

New Intro Animation

We’ve designed a beautiful new classroom-based intro animation to emphasise our focus on fun learning for CBeebies Little Learners. This will replace the old Go Explore map animation when the app first starts up.

New Navigation and Landing Screen

The new CBeebies Little Learners app has a new simple navigation. The map screen will be replaced by a simple carousel showcasing different CBeebies brands. The games will also be grouped by the Early Years Foundation Stage, so you will know exactly what your child is learning, and you can be sure your child is having fun with CBeebies and learning at the same time.

No games have been removed from the new version of the app, so your child will still be able to play all their favourite games from CBeebies Go Explore in the new CBeebies Little Learners app. They just need to find their favourite CBeebies character and click on the game image.

New Home For Videos

The CBeebies Go Explore cinema area and snails have been removed and replaced with even more opportunities to find and watch short videos in the CBeebies Little Learners app. Just like the games, the videos are categorised by EYFS learning areas mapped to the Early Years curriculum. There is also a topical collection on the main carousel, where your child can watch videos and learn about the world around them.

New My Games Area

CBeebies Little Learners has an new way to find, play and save your favourite games, with a new 'My Games’ area, which replaces the Den from the Go Explore app. The games your child has played will now also be saved in the new 'My Games’ area. This new functionality means you can now delete games to reduce the amount of space the app takes on your device. It also means games can be played offline easily, by navigating to the ‘My Games’ area.

New BBC Bitesize Area

We have added a brand-new BBC Bitesize area to the CBeebies Little Learners app, with a great game called ‘My First Day At School’, which is designed to help and support children as they prepare to start Reception. This can be found on the carousel.

We hope you have found this guide useful and you will enjoy using the new CBeebies Little Learners app. For more information about the changes to the CBeebies Go Explore app, please do take a look at our FAQs.
