Sark is looking to recruit to a new role that will lead its civil service.

Chief Pleas is looking to hire a senior executive officer (SEO) to be based on the island.

It will involve overseeing and leading the civil service, supporting and advising the island's politicians, and helping to deliver government policy.

The successful candidate will be selected by a panel of conseillers and Sark residents, with the process independently chaired by Simon Nash from the Jersey Appointments Commission.

"A critical role for Sark"

John Guille, Chair of Policy and Finance, said: "This is a really critical role for Sark, and it comes at a time of great challenge and change.

"We are looking forward to making an appointment to a person who combines the skills, values and understanding of island life that will make this a very special chapter in the life and career of a dedicated public servant."
