The Human League to headline Bristol Pride 2024

Synth-pop band The Human League will headline Bristol Pride 2024, as it celebrates its 15th anniversary in the city.

Taking place at The Downs, the festival will include more than 200 artists across five stages, such as dance star Georgia, Ladytron, Stars of RuPaul's Drag Race and Claire Richards from Steps.

The event will run from 29 June to 13 July, with the main Pride Day taking place on Saturday 13 July.

Daryn Carter MBE, Director of Programming and Partnerships, said the team was "incredibly excited" and "proud" for The Human League to join their "biggest ever line up".

"Pride is as important now as it has ever been and we’ve got an amazing two weeks of events planned to help bring the community together to stand strong, to raise our collective voices and of course to make space to celebrate and share our collective resilience and joy," he added.

The Human League, known for their singles Together in Electric Dreams and Love Action, will perform ahead of their Generations Tour which will travel across Europe later this year.

The Brit Award winning band have released nine studio albums and sold more than 20 million records.

Other artists on the line up include 90s legend Rozalla, MantarayBryn, synth band CatBear, Basement Jaxx singer Vula Malinga, Sing Out Bristol, Charlotte Perrelli and BBC Project Ikon winner Dylan and The Moon.

A new stage name was also announced, the Uplift Stage, which aims to showcase the diversity of music and performance in Bristol.

The Uplift Stage will include performances from local talent, including Bled, Luna Kali Kerensa, Laddie Gaga and The Menstrual Cramps.

Heidi N Closet will headline the cabaret stage

Bristol Pride said more than 46,000 people were expected to attend events across the two weeks and Pride Day this year, which will include a Pride march through the city centre.

The festival had previously announced the Cabaret Stage line up, which will feature performances by headliners Heidi n Closet and Pixie Polite from RuPaul’s Drag Race along with over 20 other acts.
