Man, 79, charged with murder of 73-year-old woman

A man has been charged with murder following the death of a woman in Stoke-on-Trent.
Officers were called to an address on Denton Grove in Longton at about 08:40 GMT on Friday.
Carol Matthews, 73, was found dead inside the property, police said.
Peter Matthews, 79, from Stoke-on-Trent, was due to appear at North Staffordshire Justice Centre on Monday charged with murder, police added.
