Warehouses in Bradford which were left "unusable" after a fire could be demolished to make way for parking spaces.

John Sylvester Ltd produces fasteners and plastics at its base on Vulcan Street in Dudley Hill.

Plans have been submitted to Bradford Council to demolish two of the company's warehouses which were seriously damaged in a fire several years ago.

A decision on the application is expected next month.

Plans to refurbish the buildings were approved in 2019, but work never began.

A planning application to remove the damaged buildings states car parking spaces, including RV charging units, would be built in their place.

The plan also includes refurbishment of the main warehouse building.

According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, the application says the proposed works would "remove the now derelict building, improve the overall appearance of the building and provide an improved layout for warehousing and distribution".
