A Stoke-on-Trent MP has been made a deputy chair of the Conservative Party.

Jonathan Gullis, who represents Stoke-on-Trent North, said he was "honoured" to be asked by the Prime Minister, and was "ready to take the fight" to Labour.

Guildford MP Angela Richardson has also been made a deputy chair of the party.

The announcements on Tuesday came as two ministers quit their government roles forcing Rishi Sunak to reshuffle his team.

Mr Gullis was first elected to the Commons in 2019 during the emphatic Tory victory.
