Katie Price declared bankrupt for second time

Katie Price has been declared bankrupt for a second time over an unpaid tax bill of £761,994.05.

The former glamour model had not responded to HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) over the debt, a court was told on Monday.

The demand for payment was made by HMRC last October.

Price - who was first declared bankrupt in 2019 over unpaid debts - did not attend the short hearing.

A court was told the bill "derives from self-assessments" for the years 2020-2021 and 2021-22 and includes income tax, VAT, surcharges and interest.

Insolvency and Companies Court Judge Sebastian Prentis told the hearing at London's Rolls Building: "There has been no response from the debtor. The papers are in order.

"There is a substantial debt due from Ms Price to HMRC and therefore I will make a bankruptcy order."

In February, Price was ordered to forfeit 40% of her income from the adult entertainment website OnlyFans for the next three years as part of a separate dispute over unpaid debts.

She is due to face questions about her finances in that case in April, the hearing was told.

The bankruptcy order comes a week after Price was fined £880 for driving without insurance and a licence in Northamptonshire last August.

She discussed her bankruptcy on Michelle Visage's Rule Breakers podcast in August 2023, saying she had been to court "more times than I've had hot dinners" and would "genuinely" not care if she was jailed.

In March of last year, she told Jeremy Vine's Channel 5 show she had been struggling with her mental health in recent years, and that people should not be "ashamed" of being declared bankrupt.

During a hearing about her finances in October 2020, the former model said she hadn't been "able to deal with these issues or in the right mental state to understand everything that has been going on."
