Man in court charged with attempted murder of boy in Bristol

A 19-year-old-man has appeared in court charged with the attempted murder of a 16-year-old boy.

The 16-year-old boy was attacked in a Bristol city centre McDonald's at about 20:15 GMT on 8 February.

Joel Binnings, 19, of Fishponds, appeared at Bristol Magistrates' Court and was sent to trial at Bristol Crown Court.

He was remanded in custody and his next hearing is on 18 March.

Mr Binnings was also charged with possessing a knife, namely a machete, in public.

Two men, aged 18 and 19, who were previously arrested in connection with the incident, are on conditional police bail, while a 13-year-old boy has been released without charge.
