At any point over a weekend there are dozens of photographers out and about in Bristol capturing snapshots of life, from news to sport and live entertainment.

Here is a selection of images taken in the city this weekend.

Robins v Swans: A Bristol City fan shows his colours as he walks to Ashton Gate for Sunday's England v Wales affair between the hosts and Swansea City in the Championship. Final result: Robins beat Swans 1-0.

Making his point: Matthew Bourne's dance production of Edward Scissorhands began its run at the Bristol Hippodrome on Tuesday and finished on Saturday. Next up at the city-centre theatre is Jesus Christ Superstar, complete with Julian Clary as Herod.

Blue and red unite: Bristol Rovers fan and fitness trainer Grant Rees set up "Gas to 5k" in 2023 to help people's fitness and wellbeing. After extending an invitation to Bristol City fans to get a bit of rivalry involved, he held a park run at Blaise Castle on Saturday.

Girl (air) power: Hannah Kerr is one of the students at Bristol Groundschool. Now a First Officer for British Airways, she said doing her pilot training helped her realise a dream. Speaking on International Women's Day she said: "The little girl who went in the flight deck and didn't believe she could do it would be so proud."

Job done: Friday afternoon in Bedminster Pharmacy on Cannon Street and Ade Williams (front) and his staff find a moment to smile. The independent pharmacy processes more than 1,500 prescriptions per week and more than 800 people come through its doors, many needing medical advice. "We also get people asking where Wetherspoons is," says Ade. (It's next door).

Fans of the future: The young Bristol Rovers supporters who were mascots and flag bearers before the game against Derby County at the Memorial Stadium on Saturday line up for the camera. Hopefully Rovers' 3-0 defeat at the hands of the promotion-chasing Rams did not spoil their day.

A special day: Bunches of daffodils are laid out at the front at St Paul's Church in Southville, ready to be distributed in the Mothering Sunday service.

Dwarfed: Two rugby fans under the giant screen at the Independence Sports Bar at Ashton Gate Stadium. Once the biggest screen in the UK, it has since been pushed into second place by one at the new Tottenham Stadium. Still big enough to see a last-minute winning drop goal for England in all its glory though.

They all count: Sam Grimshaw volleys home while teammate Jeff celebrates in the background. For many players, weekday nights are all about five-a-side on the hundreds of pitches across Bristol, this one at Imperial Sports Ground just off the Wells Road in Brislington.
