Twelve people have been arrested following a series of morning drugs raids in Hull.

Humberside Police said officers raided 11 properties on Tuesday as part of a pre-planned operation to tackle organised crime.

The force said it recovered "a significant amount" of drugs, including crack cocaine, along with a large quantity of cash.

Those arrested were aged between 17 and 45, it added.

Simultaneous raids were carried out at multiple locations, including Moorhouse Road, Grampian Way and Haydock Garth.

Of those arrested, most were held on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.

One 34-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and possession of an imitation firearm.

Det Insp Matthew Grantham said: "This is a great result which has caused some significant disruption to drugs gangs in our force area.

"We know that drugs and the associated crime that comes with them can have a real impact on communities and that is why tackling these types of offences remains a priority for us."
