Easter passengers face travel disruption across London

Travel services in London over the Easter weekend will be affected by planned closures for engineering works.
From Friday, 29 March to Monday, 1 April, the Elizabeth Line, London Overground and DLR are partially closed.
Network Rail says Euston station will be closed for all but London Overground services.
It says South Western Railway, Southern, Thameslink and Southeastern routes will also be disrupted.
TfL disruption
TfL says most of its services will operate with some planned closures taking place for essential maintenance and improvement works. It added that all Tube, Bus, Cycle and Cable Car services would be running as normal.
However, it warns passengers that:
- The Elizabeth line: will not run through the central section, from Paddington to Abbey Wood and Shenfield. A reduced service will operate between Paddington and Maidenhead/Heathrow Terminal 4. London Overground: will not run from Highbury & Islington to New Cross Gate, New Cross, and Clapham Junction.
- London Overground: will not run between Sydenham and Crystal Palace (Sunday, 31 March only)
- London Overground: will not run from Liverpool Street to Enfield Town, Cheshunt, and Chingford (Sunday, 31 March to Monday, 1 April)
- DLR: will not run between Stratford and West India Quay, Westferry and Canning Town, and Tower Gateway and Shadwell.
- London Trams: will not run from East Croydon to Beckenham Junction, Elmers End, and New Addington (Friday, 29 March to Wednesday, 24 April).
TfL's chief operating officer, Glynn Barton, said: "The majority of our network will be running over the Easter weekend to help everyone make the most of the city.
"However, there will be some closures to allow for essential safety works and service upgrades and we advise customers to plan ahead and check their routes before traveling to ensure a smooth journey."
Euston Station closed
Network Rail says "major improvements" to track will force the closure of Euston station for all but Overground services for all four days.
It says the works are part of a wider £90m programme of investment across the country.
Southern routes disrupted
Network Rail says passengers planning on using the West Coast main line should travel either side of the bank holiday.
It has also warned that some of the southern routes into and out of the capital would also be affected by engineering works.
It said that buses would be replacing trains on different routes so advised that customers check before they travel "as some journeys may take longer".
Details of the planned closures include:
Thameslink
Friday, 29 March to Monday, 1 April:
- No trains via Denmark Hill
- There will be a replacement bus running from Herne Hill to Bromley South calling additionally at Beckenham Junction, but not at Nunhead or Ravensbourne
Southern
Sunday, 31 March:
- No Southern trains between Balham and Sydenham via Streatham Hill and Crystal Palace
- No trains will run between Purley and Caterham
- No trains will run between Purley and Tattenham Corner
- Trains between London Victoria and Reigate will run between Redhill and Reigate only
South Western Railway (SWR)
SWR will be running rail replacement bus services on the following routes:
Friday, 29 March:
- Hounslow and Ascot via Staines
- Hounslow and Windsor & Eton Riverside via Staines
- Hounslow and Weybridge via Staines
Saturday, 30 March:
- Hounslow and Virginia Water via Staines
- Hounslow and Windsor & Eton Riverside via Staines
- Hounslow and Woking via Staines
- Motspur Park to Epsom
Saturday, 30 March to Monday, 1 April:
- Hounslow and Virginia Water via Staines
- Hounslow and Windsor & Eton Riverside via Staines
Southeastern
Friday, 29 March:
- A Saturday service will run. There will be no trains via Denmark Hill
Saturday, 30 March:
- No trains via Denmark Hill
Sunday, 31 March:
- A Sunday service will run. There will be no trains via Denmark Hill, Faversham, Sidcup, or Borough Green & Wrotham.
Monday, 1 April:
- A Saturday service will run. There will be no trains via Denmark Hill
GTR's customer services director, Jenny Saunders, said: "We thank our customers for their understanding while Network Rail undertake these vital improvements.
"To help people travel over the Easter weekend, buses will replace trains on some routes, so please allow extra time when planning your journey, and double-check your route before setting off."
