Ukraine and Russia hit by snow storms and floods

Hurricane winds have brought snowstorms and flooding to the south of Russia and parts of Ukraine.

Power outages left around two million people without electricity in Russia, according to the country's energy minister.

Ukraine says more than 2,000 of its villages and towns have no power after snowstorms.

In video shared online, huge waves can be seen battering the coastline of the Russian town Sochi.

In Ukraine's southern Crimea peninsula - illegally annexed by Russia in 2014 - Moscow-installed officials reported flooding in coastal areas. Fallen trees and other debris were seen on the streets of several towns.

The storm has also affected Moldova, Georgia and Bulgaria.
