    Your views banner

We asked for your views on Saturday's match between Fulham and Crystal Palace.

Here are some of your answers:

    Fulham fans

Mario: It was disappointing that yet again we allowed three points to slip away. Overall, some of the performances were poor but we can only hope that, as we move into the transfer market, we can improve the squad for next year's campaign.

Will: A draw was probably the fair result but it is always painful to concede in late fashion. Muniz back on the scoresheet, which is great. Hopefully we can get a big derby win next week.

    Palace fans

Allen: We would have lost this game a couple of months ago. The desire to work for each other, and the manager, is now obvious. It is a 'never say die' attitude. Another high pressing first half meant that we dominated the show, and we could have gone in two or three goals up. Encouraging signs for next season. Wharton looks a steal.

Nigel: Palace failed to take advantage of Fulham’s messy start and then conceded a good goal. We looked tired from their three previous wins, but the substitution of Schlupp made up for it, with a great goal. A draw was the right result.

Tony: I think that with the chances they had, Palace should have been ahead at half-time. However, credit to Fulham who were the better team in the second half and scored a well-worked goal. Schlupp's rocket hit secured the draw, which I think Palace deserved. Overall, a draw was a fair result.

Sam: I will readily admit that, having seen such stellar performances from the lads recently, I was expecting a more comfortable game. The fact is, however, that a point should be taken with gratitude, no matter our form. I suspect that next season, we will need to take these with some satisfaction!

He might not score often, in fact there were 175 days between his two Premier League strikes this season, but Jeffrey Schlupp rescued a point for Crystal Palace in sensational style.

Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno was helpless as Schlupp's 25-yard stunner flew into the top corner in the 88th minute.

Schlupp has scored at least two goals in each of his last six league campaigns for the Eagles and they don't get much better than this one.

Palace are unbeaten in four league games and have scored 11 goals in their last five games.

They were without Eberechi Eze, but fellow talisman Michael Olise started in his place and made a decent impact. He has two low shots saved and his free-kick into a dangerous area was headed over Chris Richards.

Oliver Glasner's side host Manchester United on 6 May (20:00 BST) and will be confident of providing more entertainment in front of their fans at Selhurst Park in the penultimate home game of the season.

  3. Fulham 1-1 Crystal Palace: What Glasner saidpublished at 18:26 27 April

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has been speaking to BBC Match of the Day following the game: "At the end, maybe the result is OK. I'm really pleased with the performance, a totally deserved point that we got today. I'm pleased and I really appreciate it.

"The feeling is that we were the better team. It was the third game in six days and we cleared staying in the Premier League.

"The players had a lot of power at the end. They wanted to get this point and we got the reward with an amazing goal from Jeffrey Schlupp. Again, very good from all of our substitutes. [There was] New energy on the pitch and we are happy that we take the point."

On Jeffrey Schlupp's goal: "We know that Jeffrey has a fantastic finish, we see it in training. But, again, it was very hard work today.

"The players did really well but now they deserve to have some days off and then [we will be] preparing for the finish of the Premier League."

  4. Fulham 1-1 Crystal Palace: Key statspublished at 18:06 27 April

Here are the key facts and figures following Saturday’s game between Fulham and Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

    • Fulham are now unbeaten across their past five Premier League matches against Crystal Palace (W1 D4). It is Fulham's longest unbeaten league run against the Eagles since a 12-game run in the second division between 1974 and 1985 (W4 D8).

    • Crystal Palace are now without a win across their last 11 Premier League away games against fellow London sides (D5 L6). This is their joint-longest run in the Premier League alongside another run of 11 games between 1997 and 2014 (D2 L9).

    • Fulham have now lost just one of their past six London derbies in the Premier League (W4 D1) and are unbeaten in their last three (W2 D1). This is their longest such run in the competition since winning three derbies in a row between January and April 2013.

    • Jeffrey Schlupp scored his second Premier League goal of the season 175 days after his first goal, which also came away from home against Burnley in November. He has now scored at least two goals in each of his past six league campaigns for the Eagles.

    • Rodrigo Muniz has now scored nine Premier League goals since the start of February. Only Cole Palmer and Phil Foden (11 goals each) have scored more in the competition over that period.

    Have your say

Jeffrey Schlupp hit a 25-yard stunner as Crystal Palace salvaged a Premier League point at Fulham.

Adam Wharton's pass found Schlupp outside the box in the closing stages, with the substitute's powerful effort arrowing into the top corner to leave goalkeeper Bernd Leno helpless.

Rodrigo Muniz's thumping header had put Fulham in front shortly after the break.

The Brazilian got on the end of Timothy Castagne's pinpoint cross, as he continued his fine form since the end of January.

But Palace, now four matches unbeaten in the league, showed fighting spirit to come back with minutes left to play, after being the better team in the first half.

  6. Sutton's predictions: Fulham v Crystal Palacepublished at 11:49 27 April

    Sutton's predictionsImage source, Getty Images

Chris Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League matches again this season, against a variety of guests.

For this weekend's games, he takes on Andy Bell and Steve Queralt from Ride, who support Arsenal and Tottenham.

    Sutton's predictions: 2-2

Crystal Palace have found a bit of form and the goals are flying in too. I have always been a fan of big centre-forwards and Jean-Philippe Mateta is on fire for them at the moment, with seven in his past seven matches.

In contrast, Fulham have lost three of their past four games but, if this is the kind of game I expect it to be, I have a feeling they will halt the Palace charge.

I don't see Marco Silva's side keeping out the Eagles front-line of Mateta, Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze, but they should have plenty of chances too - I think both sets of fans are going to enjoy this one.

    Andy's prediction: 1-2

It's a battle of mid-table, 13th versus 14th, and I'm going with Palace to win it.

    Steve's prediction: 2-2

They are two quite well-matched teams, so a draw for me.

  7. Glasner on Eze fitness, 'confidence' and Mateta formpublished at 15:42 26 April

Oliver Glasner has been speaking to the media before Crystal Palace travel to Fulham on Saturday.

Here are the key lines from his news conference:

    • Glasner confirmed Michael Olise is fit to start at Craven Cottage, but Eberechi Eze "is questionable" after picking up a knee problem and they will "decide tomorrow [Saturday] if it makes sense that he plays".

    • He is "very confident" that they can get their fourth win in a row as "the performances and what the players are doing and what they show in training in these small, short sessions, give me confidence".

    • He added: "But it would be the biggest mistake that we can make to say 'OK, we won at Liverpool, who were in second position at that time, we won against eighth, West Ham, and we won against the sixth [Newcastle], so that automatically means you win against the 13th [Fulham]'. This would be our biggest mistake."

    • On Jean-Philippe Mateta, who has scored eight times in nine games under the new boss: "He's the number nine in the middle of the pitch and he's our most offensive player, so he should be there when he gets the chances and he has now the confidence to finish them. Everything he shows is what he's doing, so of course we encourage and support every single player."

    • He added: "If you invest a lot in something, you get the reward, and JP gets the reward for the time, for the effort he's investing every single day. I like to see this because it's not doing nothing and scoring many goals, or doing nothing and being successful in life."

    • On recent performances: "Of course we hoped that it would happen. Now, the performances are really good, but it's the same - it's not [certain] that it happens again in the future, so you always have to deserve it, you always have to work on it."

    • Glasner felt it "was useful" going away for a training camp in Marbella during the international break, adding: "It's not that you go for one week, or five days and then everything works. It's a process, and honestly I see so many things we can still improve."

  8. Fulham v Crystal Palace: Pick of the statspublished at 08:18 26 April

Here is a selection of the key facts and figures before Fulham host Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday (15:00 BST kick-off).

    • Having won two of their first three Premier League games against Crystal Palace, Fulham have won just one of their past eight against the Eagles. Despite this, they are currently unbeaten in four against their fellow Londoners.

    • Fulham have won four of their past five London derbies in the Premier League, as many as their previous 44 beforehand (D9 L31).

    • Crystal Palace's 1-0 win at Liverpool in their last away match ended a run of 10 Premier League games without a win on the road (D4 L6). They last won consecutive such matches in April 2023.

    • Andreas Pereira has created 80 chances for his team-mates in the league this season, the most on record for a Fulham player in a campaign (since 2003-04). He also has seven assists, with Simon Davies the last Fulham player to get more in a Premier League season (eight in 2007-08).

    • Michael Olise has scored in his past three Premier League London derby appearances - netting four goals in total. The only Crystal Palace player to score in four in a row is Andrew Johnson in 2004-05.

  9. 'Those two are magic' - what makes Eze and Olise special?published at 17:27 25 April

Michael Olise and Eberechi EzeImage source, PA Media

Crystal Palace duo Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise are the Premier League players to watch next season, say West Ham's Michail Antonio and Fulham's Tom Cairney.

On Thursday, BBC Sport football reporter Alex Howell revealed the Eagles will demand a £60m starting price in negotiations for either of their signature.

Cairney and Antonio understand the hefty valuations and on this week's episode of the Footballers Football Podcast, they explore how high their ceilings could be.

"Eze’s got the potential to play at a higher level and at a top club," said Cairney. "He’s got everything. He would have done it a year before if he had not ruptured his Achilles and the way he's recovered has been amazing.

"With his balance, he beats players effortlessly. He is so strong and I love him. I expect him to go to a big club."

Hammers forward Antonio had a tough experience against the two at Selhurst Park last Sunday when his side were thrashed 5-2.

He added: "Those two are magic - it's ridiculous. They both pop up in the number-10 pocket and play one-twos with each other.

"They play the same way, gliding around and it's not even like they are running. It’s effortless.

"It was frustrating - that’s why I kicked Olise. I apologised at the end of the game. I was so frustrated.

  10. 'Mateta found a manager that clicks for him'published at 13:14 25 April

Match of the Day graphic showing Jean-Philippe Mateta's form since February 24 2024 - he has scored the second-most goals in the league (eight) behind Cole Palmer (10)

Former Premier League midfielder Danny Murphy has been highlighting Jean-Philippe Mateta's excellent form since the appointment of Oliver Glasner as manager.

The Frenchman has eight goals in nine matches since Glasner arrived at the club, just three less than he scored in 79 matches for Patrick Vieira and Roy Hodgson.

"Sometimes you just find a manager that clicks for you" Murphy told Match of the Day. "His form for the last month or two has been tremendous. Newcastle struggled with his physicality, his willingness to run in behind and his aerial prowess.

"He looks fit, strong and hungry and very hard to play against when he's in this good condition.

"When you're confident and you've scored a few, everything you hit feels like you're going to score. He's finding himself in these [good] situations a lot more under the new manager and with their best players fit.

"Whether it's his left or right foot, he's having a swing at it and it's going in. Long may it continue for him, because he works tremendously hard."

  11. Your views on Crystal Palace v Newcastlepublished at 11:18 25 April

    Your views

We asked for your views on Crystal Palace's 2-0 win over Newcastle on Wednesday.

Here are some of your answers:

    Crystal Palace fans

Alan: Another fantastic performance by the team. Oliver Glasner is showing his quality as a coach. The players are putting in a full shift and playing to the best of their ability, and tactically we are spot on with pressing, movement and passing.

Tomtresco: Glasner has completely changed the mindset and style of playing. Had we had him at the start of the season, then we would be looking at a top-six club. I cannot fault the team with the way they are playing.

Steve: The last three games have been an absolute pleasure to watch. Glasner has got them playing with freedom. With Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise fit, and the addition of Adam Wharton and Daniel Munoz, they are now a force to be reckoned with.

Martin: Brilliant from Palace. Front foot and high energy which is different to earlier in the season. Will Hughes is a revelation. It is just such a shame we have not seen Olise and Eze together all season.

Gavin: Palace fans are now deservedly in dreamland having won their past three games against teams in the top eight. Glasner is slowly imprinting his style of play and the team are adapting to a front-foot attacking style that the players are certainly buying into. It is great to see a Palace team seeking to be offensive and entertaining. Five-star show!

    Newcastle fans

Simon: Well that was embarrassing. How is it we can beat Fulham and Tottenham with great open free-flowing football, but lose to Crystal Palace Iooking like a Sunday league team? I just don't get it and Man Utd have got a grip of sixth. I can't see us finishing with Europe in our pocket if we play like that!

Johno: Never in the game. Dismal effort.

Tom: Abysmal performance. If I was Eddie Howe, I would be ripping into that squad today. The midfield was totally inefficient. Far too weak. We were unable to string two passes together. Poor performance from [Harvey] Barnes, [Sean] Longstaff and [Jacob] Murphy. I am not sure what sort of incentive these players need. European football is there for the taking.

Johnny: So disappointed! European chance was there and we were beaten all over the park! Can we hold onto Bruno [Guimaraes] and [Alexander] Isak? I doubt it now?

Barry: Extremely poor display with only two shots on goal in 90 minutes. No point in agonising about Europe - with performances like tonight, they simply don’t deserve it.

  13. 'Belief' restored at Selhurst Parkpublished at 08:26 25 April

Jean-Philippe Mateta celebratesImage source, Getty Images

BBC Radio 5 Live commentator John Southall says the impact of Oliver Glasner is starting to show, suggesting the new boss has restored belief to Selhurst Park.

The Austrian, who took charge in February, has inspired victories over Liverpool and Newcastle in recent weeks to secure a record 12th season in the Premier League for the Eagles.

"There is a lot to like about Crystal Palace at the moment," said Southall following Palace's 2-0 win over the Magpies.

"Oliver Glasner's impact and ideas are starting to take shape and no more so than on Jean-Philippe Mateta.

"This is a player who scored just two goals last season and now has seven in seven games. He is transformed.

"It is three wins from three and there is a belief here now. You can feel it."

  14. Crystal Palace 2-0 Newcastle: Analysispublished at 07:10 25 April

    Jean-Philippe MatetaImage source, Getty Images

The win over Newcastle was Crystal Palace's third in a row in the Premier League.

It is the first time they have managed to do that since April last year and it is the same amount of wins in their previous 20 games in the league.

The improvement in Jean-Philippe Mateta under Oliver Glasner has meant that the Eagles have been more of a threat on the attack.

Only Erling Haaland and Cole Palmer have scored more than Mateta's eight goals since Oliver Glasner took charge of the club in February.

In his post-match press conference Glasner said he hopes that his side get 'addicted' to winning games and that he is excited for the final four games of the league.

The win means that Palace have now guaranteed Premier League football for a club record 12th season and allows planning to start for what could be an exciting time under Glasner.
