Nottingham Forest gave their hopes of Premier League survival a crucial boost with a convincing victory over Fulham at the City Ground.

Despite Fulham threatening a comeback in the second period, the home side's three first-half goals were enough to move them three points clear of the relegation zone.

Callum Hudson-Odoi opened the scoring after nine minutes, cutting inside and slotting home after Morgan Gibbs-White's sublime threaded pass found the forward on the left-hand side.

Chris Wood continued his impressive goalscoring form 10 minutes later with a superb strike from range - his eighth in nine appearances - before Gibbs-White added a third, placing a low drive into the bottom corner.

It looked like Forest had the points wrapped up by half-time but a breathless second period began with Tosin Adarabioyo's glancing header pulling one back for the visitors after just five minutes.

Chances were in abundance at both ends as Neco Williams hammered a shot off the bar and a fine Matz Sels save denied Adarabioyo a second, while Kenny Tete clipped the underside of the bar.

The result leaves Fulham 12th while 17th-placed Forest will travel to Tottenham on Sunday with renewed confidence about their hopes of staying up.

Sutton's prediction: 1-1

I was wrong when I thought Fulham would beat Sheffield United on Saturday, and Marco Silva's side have not picked up many points on the road this season.

So Nottingham Forest will definitely see this as a winnable game - but the same applied to their past two fixtures, against Luton Town and Crystal Palace, and they did not win either of those.

Chris Wood is bailing Forest out at the moment with some important goals, and I would not be surprised if he scored again - but I expect this one will end up being a draw.

Brown's prediction: 2-1

Saturday's game against Sheffield United was a real rollercoaster. The feeling when we thought the Blades went 4-1 up was just one of utter disbelief. How is a team who dismantled Spurs two weeks ago getting battered by the league's bottom side?

However, Fulham turned it around and arguably should have won it. We showed excellent resilience to recover the match and Rodrigo Muniz's finish was one of the best goals I've ever seen live.

Seeing Rodrigo score a scissor-kick like he did might seem extraordinary for neutrals, but us Fulham fans know that he's been trying to score a goal like that ever since he arrived at the club in 2021.

For all the positives of the comeback, I do think it is fair to criticise Fulham's passive nature in the first half. While breaking down a low-block is never easy, I felt like Fulham did not have enough energy in the first half and I wonder if we took beating Sheffield United a bit for granted.

Fulham have the capacity to give every team in this league a game, but we have to achieve more consistency if we want to compete higher up the table. Under the circumstances, it was a good point, but it's definitely a case of two points dropped that could be crucial in the quest to reach the top half.

Mike: Thought the Blades had done enough and if VAR had not intervened I am sure they would have got three points. Second game where they have thrown away a two-goal lead. What goes on in defence? Do they talk to each other? Is it a concentration thing or a lack of quality?

Peter: The substitutions were the turning point. Why not McAtee rather than Norwood? United’s lack of depth was in stark contrast to their opponents’. Despite my disappointment the Blades’ goals were a thing of beauty - like water in a desert of a season. Roll on next season and be prepared to take a further hit for the cause of longer-term rebuilding.

Neil: Says a lot when our best defender on corners is McBurnie and we go and sub him and bring more pressure on our goal. But we showed some fight and that's what the fans want!

Fulham fans

Stephen: I've been supporting Fulham for 70 years and it's the same old story. We can play brilliantly against the top teams but when it comes to those below us in terms of league position we tend to have these moments of defensive madness that often lose us the match. At least we showed some bottle coming back from two down.

Will: I don’t think I’ve been more confident that we would win a game but even though we didn’t win what a game it was. At 3-1 it seemed all over before a De Cordova-Reid rocket, and what a goal from Muniz.

Jim: Fulham looked to be suffering from post international fatigue and just could not break Sheffield United down. The subs really changed it and Fulham could have won it at the end

After a crazy second half at Bramall Lane, Fulham boss Marco Silva was left with mixed emotions - relieved at a late fightback to recover from 3-1 down to draw 3-3 but also frustrated having not taken the three points.

Fulham had clearly been the better side and hit the post twice through Rodrigo Muniz, before Tosin Adarabioyo gave the ball away and bottom-of-the-table Sheffield United took a lead against the run of play.

Joao Palhinha equalised four minutes later, only for the hosts to score twice in a three-minute spell as Sheffield United looked for what would've been only their fourth Premier League win of the season.

The turning point came when the home side were denied a fourth goal because of an offside before Fulham, who had made a number of attacking substitutions, pulled one back through a goal from Bobby De Cordova-Reid as he made an instant impact.

The equaliser came from Muniz in spectacular style with a 93rd-minute bicycle kick and Silva's side nearly snatched the win in the 16th minute of added time, only for Ivo Grbic to deny Tom Cairney.

Fulham are still in the hunt for a Europa Conference League place and are only five points behind seventh-placed West Ham but will be wondering how they left South Yorkshire without the victory.

• Sheffield United’s Oli McBurnie scored and assisted in a Premier League match for the first time in his 92nd appearance.

• Fulham have scored three goals in three of their oast four PL matches, while Sheffield United have scored three goals in a Premier League home match for the first time since they beat Chelsea 3-0 in July 2020.

• Fulham have only won one of their past 14 Premier League away matches (D5 L8). In fact, only Sheffield United have picked up fewer wins on the road (1) than Fulham’s two in the Premier League this season.

• Ben Brereton Diaz has been involved in five goals (scored four, assisted one) in his five Premier League matches for Sheffield United since joining the club in January.

• Only Liverpool (19) and Tottenham (15) have hit the woodwork more than Fulham (14) in the Premier League this season. No Fulham player has hit the woodwork more than Rodrigo Muniz (3) in the league in 2023/24.

Rodrigo Muniz scored with a spectacular injury-time bicycle kick as Fulham came back from two goals down to deny bottom-of-the-table Sheffield United a vital victory.

In the third of 14 additional minutes at the end of regulation time, Muniz connected with Adama Traore's cross in an incredible second half at Bramall Lane.

Sheffield United threw away a two-goal advantage to draw 2-2 at Bournemouth last time out and the Blades let slip another glorious winning chance, having been 3-1 ahead at the 86-minute mark.

But Fulham substitute Bobby de Cordova-Reid made an instant impact by shooting into the net from 25 yards to set up a frantic finish before Muniz grabbed his eighth goal in eight games.

The Blades had looked on course to secure what would have been only their fourth Premier League win of the season and went ahead through Ben Brereton Diaz, on loan from Villarreal, in the 58th minute.

Sutton's prediction: 0-2

Fulham blew Tottenham away in their last game and even though they are not quite the same force on the road, they should be too strong for Sheffield United.

Marco Silva's side have got better and better as the season has gone on and, in Rodrigo Muniz, they have got a striker who is bang in form.

We know the Blades will dig in and work hard but at the moment that is pretty much all they have got. It won't be enough.

Bionic's prediction: 0-2

Fulham have surprised a lot of people this season with the way they have gone about their business. Muniz did literally nothing for Boro when he was on loan with us last season but he cannot stop scoring at the moment.

Marco Silva has been speaking to the media before Fulham's trip to Sheffield United on Saturday.

Here are the main lines from his news conference:

• On team news, he said: "It looks like everything is going to be OK. We'll have to assess them on Friday again and take decisions, but no serious problems."

• On his opponents: "I think they are going to fight really hard to get the points. They are not in the position they want to be in, but they've been showing the capacity to react. We expect a tough game, it's always tough to play there. They are going to make it really hard for sure."

• On the club's latest stadium plans: "What I want is to see the stand full of fans to support ourselves, that's the main thing for me as a manager. All of the other facilities are not for us, it's really something the club decided will help it grow and have more revenue in some situations. What I would love to see is the stand full of people supporting Fulham football club."

• On Luis Boa Morte leaving to become Guinea-Bissau's head coach: "For me it's a normal situation. I had an assistant that worked with me for five clubs before Everton and after the first season at Everton he left and I invited Luis to come. It's not something new. It's a natural way that things happen, a normal situation."

• On Fulham's away form: "At the beginning of the second half of the season I set a target to improve our away form, it was not good enough in the first half. I think we are capable of it. The next two games are away from home and the challenge for us is to keep improving and going in the right direction."

• On Willian, whose contract expires in the summer: "I've had some conversations with him throughout this season and he's going to wait until the end of the season. With a player of his age, it's important to see how he's feeling at the end to take decisions and we respect that situation from him."

• Sheffield United have won just one of their five Premier League games against Fulham, though are unbeaten in both at Bramall Lane.

• The Whites are looking to complete their first league double over the Blades since 2017-18 in the Championship, and they have never beaten United twice in the same top-flight campaign.

• Fulham have won four of their past six league games, as many as in their previous 15. Four of their 11 Premier League victories this season have been by a margin of at least three goals, their joint-most in a top-flight season.

Fulham's redeveloped Riverside Stand will now give ticket holders the chance to "redefine" their matchday experience with the opening of a rooftop terrace and Michelin star dining.

The Sky Deck will make up the top three floors of The Riverside and will hold views of the River Thames and London's skyline. Inside there will be a gourmet restaurant and a Brasserie which also hold a pitch side view on matchdays.

In The Dugout, people have the opportunity to sit directly behind the coaching staff and relax in the connecting bar before and after the game.

Fulham chairman Shahid Khan, said: "My vision was to provide our fans, and our neighbourhood, with a destination that would continue to honour our history and tradition at Craven Cottage every day of the year, but especially on matchdays.

"It isn't about finally being able to offer a higher standard of hospitality options that have essentially been unavailable to Fulham supporters until now.

"It's about offering the ultimate matchday hospitality experience in the world that will also benefit the long-term promise and future of Fulham Football Club.

"The new Riverside Stand at Craven Cottage will make it possible."

Work initially began on the stand development in 2019 and it will increase the capacity from 25,700 to 29,600.

The Dugout is due to open in time for the start of the 2024-25 season, with The Riverside scheduled to be finished by December.

With nine games of the season remaining, Fulham are one of the most - if not the most - comfortable teams in the league. Safety is assured and much of the fanbase is content with a mid-table finish.

Getting into Europe would be amazing, but that comes with its own pitfalls. While the trips away would be incredible, is this team ready for the added pressure of playing twice a week?

That being said, going sideways in this league often means you are going backwards - so here are the three things I would like to see happen before the end of the campaign:

Adarabioyo's contract renewed

Time is running out to try to entice Tosin Adarabioyo to stay at Craven Cottage once his deal expires this summer. According to reports, we have put a big offer on the table, but at the time of writing he is yet to accept. His partnership with Calvin Bassey should be the foundation that we build next season upon.

Beat Brentford

While this season has been one to remember, August's 3-0 home defeat by Brentford stung. It is even worse when you see how poor they have been since.

It was an off-day for Fulham that desperately needs avenging. We play the Bees in early May, and a win at the GTech would be the icing on the cake of a brilliant campaign.

Freeze season ticket prices

There has been incredible harmony on the pitch, but the relationship between the club and fans is arguably at rock bottom. This is because of high ticket prices, huge delays in opening the new Riverside Stand and poor facilities elsewhere in the ground.

Crystal Palace announced a price freeze for season ticket-holders last week, and given that they are probably Fulham's most comparable club, there is increased pressure to do the same.

After an 18% rise last year, it is a gesture match-going fans would massively appreciate.

We asked you what the most irritating thing at your club has been this season, whether it be inconsistency, injuries or a player failing to deliver.

Here are some of your replies:

Keir: Our inability to finish off teams we are dominating and invariably then lose to. Our performance against Tottenham shows we are capable of playing 90 minutes at a high level. Let's hope we can continue like that next season.

Andy: The attitude of the club towards the fans. Their insistence that high prices for tickets, shirts, and merchandise are reasonable and justified, and that the complaints of the fanbase are not, is a stark change from the traditional FFC ethos. They are not interested in loyalty, only tourist income.

Tom: VAR is the obvious choice. Going to matches without it during our League Cup run was so refreshing. But the price of tickets is too much. When will short-sighted owners realise that fans make the Premier League what it is? And if real fans are priced out, how will that affect the 'product' they're selling overseas?

Terry: Ticket prices. The board are pricing out older supporters who don't have the disposable income because the club want to pay off the investment in the stand. That's fine if that's the reason, but at least be honest and say so, rather than say they believe they have affordable options for all. They're either lying or not living in the real world.

Will: Painful inconsistency. Back-to-back 5-0 wins followed by a 2-0 loss to Burnley. Then beating Brighton and Manchester United and losing a winnable game at Molineux. If we can fix this issue then top 10 is on the cards.
