World Aquatics Championships 2024: All you need to know including competitors and schedule

The 2024 World Aquatics Championships take place between 2 and 18 February in Qatar and you can follow it on the BBC Sport website and app.

Athletes from 197 nations will compete in 75 events across swimming, diving and water polo, with many hoping to secure remaining spots for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Among those travelling to Doha for Great Britain are diver Tom Daley and swimmer Adam Peaty, both Tokyo 2020 gold medallists, who have recently taken breaks from their sports.

Daley returned to diving in December, having taken a two-year break from the sport. If successful in Doha, he would become the first British diver to appear at five Olympic Games.

The 29-year-old made his comeback at the British National Diving Cup, winning gold in the 10m synchro with Noah Williams, who is also included in the diving squad in Doha.

Three-time Olympic gold medallist Adam Peaty will also compete after making his swimming return last October.

Peaty missed the 2023 Championships in Japan, having stepped away from the sport to prioritise his mental health.

Diver Grace Reid, who has appeared at two Olympic Games, will be aiming to qualify for a second spot in the women's 3m springboard competition.

The 27-year-old has qualified for the 1m springboard competition in Paris.

British Swimming has named a team of 20 swimmers to compete in Doha.

Their primary focus will be to secure relay team places.

There will be a squad of 13 divers competing in Doha for Great Britain.

They will aim to secure the final three spots - men's 10m synchro, women's 3m springboard and men's 3m springboard.

Great Britain return to international water polo after an 11-year absence. The senior women's team will face Italy, Canada and South Africa in their opening matches.

Four open water swimmers will be aiming to secure Paris 2024 places in the men's and women's 10km events.

The top 13 finishers in Doha, excluding the podium finishers, can obtain a quota place.

Great Britain's artistic swimming pair Kate Shortman and Izzy Thorpe will aim to secure Paris 2024 spots.

If successful, this would be their second Olympics appearance.
