World Taekwondo Grand Prix Final: Bianca Cook will not be '100%' after knee surgeries

Britain's three-time world champion Bianca Cook says she will not be "100%" for this week's World Taekwondo Grand Prix Final after surgery on both knees.

Cook, who has two Olympic bronze medals, will compete at +67kg.

The competition in Manchester from 1 to 3 December is the last chance for British fighters to gain qualifying points for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris next summer.

Cook, 32, said the recovery has been one of her "biggest challenges".

"Going into any competition not 100%, it makes you doubt yourself, but that's when your character comes through," said Cook, who won bronze at the World Championships in June.

"Physically and mentally, you have to look at things in a different way. I've had my fair share of injuries - a few operations. This one was a bit different because we didn't know what was wrong."

Only one British fighter per weight category will qualify for the 2024 Olympics.

Cook said: "It became my goal and obsession to be the best and repeating the successes is a part of that.

"Paris is the fairytale ending of it all. This is my last dance and I am going to give it all that I got.

"It's been a great ride. Let's see if we can end the right way."

Double Olympic champion Jade Jones, two-time world champion Bradly Sinden and double world Para-taekwondo champion Amy Truesdale are also part of the GB team at the Manchester Regional Arena.
