Endangered baby rhino explores Whipsnade Zoo home

An endangered baby rhino has been filmed playing and exploring the paddock at its new home.

The southern white rhino calf was born on 7 March to mum Jaseera at Whipsnade Zoo in Bedfordshire.

Rhino keeper Michael Hepher said: "At six weeks old he's getting bolder by the day. While he started out quite wobbly on his feet, he's now firmly found his stride."

The calf was named Benja by ZSL's conservationists in Kenya, in honour of the dominant black rhino bull that lives in the Tsavo Conservation Area where the team works.
