Cooper: Labour's plan to revive British high streets

The shadow home secretary has explained how her party would bring in 13,000 more police officers and planned to replace business rates.

Yvette Cooper claimed the government had "finally done a U-turn" as it now backed a previous Labour proposal to bring in a new law covering attacks on retail staff.

But she described Conservative plans as an "imitation" of what her party wanted.
