Inside the 'addictive' hot springs of northern Japan

Full of minerals and relaxation, the hot springs of Nagano, Japan have brought in visitors for over 1,000 years. But it isn’t just humans who relish a hot bath. Also known as snow monkeys, Japanese macaque monkeys have enjoyed taking baths in the natural onsen for decades.

Actor Joanna Lumley tries the ‘addictive’ hot springs in her mission to explore the unknown corners of Japan’s 6,800 islands by boat, train, plane and foot.
