The engineering marvel lost in the Brazilian tropics

Two centuries ago, a Victorian gem bloomed in the middle of a rich coffee and hydric region of the Brazilian Atlantic Forest. British pioneers with expertise in railways building in the European Alps adventured to the small town of Paranapiacaba with their brand-new technology and heavy machinery to shape this marvel in the most unexpected place of South America.

The small town hides the stories of generations of businesspeople, architects, and engineers, and still plays host to tourists and history enthusiasts today.
