Kilmarnock athletics club gathers pace

An East Ayrshire athletics club has seen participation numbers explode after it set up home in a new world-class athletics and sports facility.

The Kilmarnock Harriers run training sessions for all age groups and abilities at the Ayrshire Athletics Arena, which opened in 2012 to coincide with the London Olympics.

The latest coup for the club is to be sharing the facility with sporting stars, after it was announced that Team Scotland athletes would be based there in the immediate run-up to the Commonwealth Games.
