German road racer Patrick Hoff says making his debut at the Isle of Man TT in 2024 will be "phenomenal".

The 32-year-old was third placed in this season's International Road Racing Championships (IRRC) Superbike series.

Hoff is set to compete on his own BMW machinery in the Superbike, Supertock and Senior TT races in 2024 under the umbrella of the Penz13.com team.

Having started his motor racing career in earnest in 2015, he said he now felt "ready to embrace the challenge".

Although Hoff had considered entering the event in 2023, he said he held off for another year to build up more experience on the advice of his fellow countryman David Datzer, who made his debut in 2019 and is currently the fastest German rider to lap the course.

Hoff took part in hill climb events in 2018 before turning his attention to road racing and the IRRC.

He said: "Once I started the IRRC, I got to know about the Isle of Man TT.

"I wasn't sure if I would get to compete here, but I've progressed each year and now feel ready to embrace the challenge."

Having visited the island twice and taken a trip around the 37.7-mile (60km) Mountain Course with rider liaison officer John Barton, he said he was now "starting to feel more confident" about competing.

Hoff said: "My main goal for 2024 is to be safe and enjoy myself as this is a long-term project for me.

"Building up my speed and getting used to the track is the aim during qualifying week.

"I'd like to think I can do a good job at the TT."

The Isle of Man TT races are scheduled to run from 27 May to 8 June.
