When you register we send you a verification email. This is to make sure you gave us the right email address when you set up your account.
We also send a verification email if you update your email address in your account settings.
Be sure to click on the link in the email to verify your account. If you don’t, you won’t be able to do things like comment on BBC News stories.
Can’t find the email?
Check the junk or spam folder in your email account. The verification email might have been put in there by an overzealous spam filter. If you registered with a fake email address, you’ll need to change it to a real one to get it verified.
