There was traffic chaos in and around Bristol this morning (December 12). A lane was closed on the M4 and there was very slow traffic leading onto the M32.

According to traffic monitoring site Inrix, the lane was closed due to a broken down vehicle heading westbound. The closure was in place from junction 19 for the M32 and junction 20 for the Almondsbury Interchange.

The traffic has since cleared. Inrix says: "Traffic easing and all lanes open, broken down car removed on M4 Westbound from J19 M32 (Bristol) to J20 M5 J15 (Almondsbury Interchange). Previous congestion to the M32 which is queueing to just past J2 (Eastville) to enter onto the M4."
