There are long queues of traffic almost the entire length of the M32 this afternoon after a collision on the southbound side of the motorway.

Traffic service Inrix is reporting that the M32 city-bound is partially blocked, due to a crash at junction 2, which is the exit for Eastville.

There are two big sporting events that drivers will be heading towards right now - Bristol Rovers are at home to Oxford United at the Memorial Stadium, just a mile or so from junction 2, while Bristol Bears are taking on Bath in a Premiership rugby match at Ashton Gate Stadium in South Bristol.

We will bring you all the latest updates on the traffic situation on the M32, and around Bristol, as we get them - scroll down for updates

Status of the M32

According to Google Traffic - which is spookily monitoring the speed at which everyone's phones are moving along the M32 - there is slower than normal traffic all the way from the start of the M32 southbound at the junction with the M4.

It slows right down at the approach to junction 2, the turn off for Eastville (and, importantly, Horfield, where Bristol Rovers play in an hour).
Then there's a bit of a speed-up, before there is a long queue to approach and go past junction 3 (for St Paul's and Easton) and into the city centre at Cabot Circus.

So be prepared for a bit of a delay, if you're approaching Bristol down the M32.
