The West Country was front and centre as the 40th series of hit property show Location, Location, Location arrived on our screens last night (Wednesday, October 25). The new season got off to an emotional start when a couple from Devon experienced semi-detached love at first sight.

They were one of two households with very different budgets who were both hoping to find their forever dream homes in Devon. Torquay natives Natalie and Glen were hoping for a family home in the area and had a budget of up to £280,000, while single mum Amy was hoping for a house in the Exmouth area and was willing to splash out up to £1 million.

And it was Natalie and Glen who fell in love with the first three-bed semi-detached house they saw, and wanted to make a bid straight away, reports DevonLive. Presenter Kirstie Allsopp showed them around the property, in the Plainmoor area of Torquay, but there was a big risk they wouldn't be able to land the house, setting the scene for a dramatic climax to the show.

In fact, they were so blown away by the property, Glen said: "I think I'm gonna cry" when looking around the living room. Partner Natalie agreed: "It's just lovely so far. I think I've fallen in love."

But the catch was that they were the first of seven viewings for that house, showing just how hard it is to purchase homes in Devon on a budget of under £300,000. Kirstie advised the couple to put in an offer straight away if they wanted to land their hands on the home.

Natalie and Glen viewed a second house, but their hearts were set on the first property. They then got the news they were waiting for as Kirstie received a call from the estate agent, informing them that their £280,000 bid on their dream home had been accepted.

Natalie was wiping away tears of joy as they got their hands on their dream house on the first viewing. And Location, Location, Location fans were delighted for them.

On X, formerly known as Twitter, Matt Sheriff said: "Mad to see a couple love the first house they see and then buy it - amazing #locationlocationlocation#c4locations." will.i.am added: " Amazing outcome for the couple rare thing to happen!"

Trevor Simpson said: "Why have I got tears in my eyes #locationlocationlocation." Another said: "Nice outcome for great couple #LocationLocationLocation."

It was great news for Amy too as she managed to buy her dream house in Exmouth, a thatched Grade II house for £940,000.

Location, Location, Location was launched in the year 2000 and now after 23 years and almost 400 episodes, the show enters its 40th series.
