Everyone is feeling the pinch after splashing out at Christmas, so there has never been a better time to win big on the National Lottery. Tonight (Wednesday, December 27) there is a staggering £2 million up for grabs.

The money would mean 2024 would look very different to 2023. You could retire in an instant, buy a dream home and travel the world several times over. But to claim the jackpot, you have to buy a ticket.

To play the National Lottery, choose six numbers from one to 59 or choose a lucky dip. It costs £2 per play. There is also the chance to take home £500,000 in the Thunderball. This draw takes place at 8:15pm and offers players better odds of winning.

The National Lottery has urged players to check their tickets after a Thunderball prize of £500,000 remains unclaimed. The lucky punter purchased the ticket in Redditch - but is yet to come forward since the draw took place on December 8.

Camelot confirmed the winning numbers as 2, 15, 31, 35, 37 and the Thunderball was 6. The person has until June 5, 2024, to claim the huge sum. A spokesperson for the National Lottery said: “If you bought a Thunderball ticket in Redditch for the draw on December 8, it’s time to look everywhere - in the pockets of clothes you might have been wearing at the time, bags, in the car, wallets and purses and in that sideboard or drawer where we all tend to put bits and pieces - and check your tickets.
