B&M is expanding its collection of stores across the UK, with a massive amount opening in the coming year. Fans will be pleased to know that some will even be opening in a matter of weeks.

According to LatestDeals.co.uk, the bargain store is planning to open a massive 45 new branches across the country. Coming in a week’s time will be B&M’s first opening of the year in Porthmadog, Wales, on Thursday, January 18.

This store alone will be providing 35 jobs. The Porthmadog store, occupying the former 16,033 sqft Wilko store, marks just the beginning of a series of openings.

It comes as B&M European Value Retail Group, the bargain store’s parent company, which also oversees Heron Foods, reported a revenue increase of five per cent to £1.65 billion. Alex Russo, CEO of B&M European Value Retail, emphasised focus on affordability and quality, a crucial strategy especially as many grapple with the cost-of-living crisis.

B&M is set to hit its earnings target of £620-630 million in this financial year. Alongside the new stores, B&M is also converting 51 former Wilko sites.

Commenting on the expansion plans, Tom Church, Co-Founder of LatestDeals.co.uk, said: "B&M's expansion is a positive sign for both consumers and the job market. In times of economic uncertainty, such accessible shopping options are a boon for many."
