An award-winning restaurant and hospitality group from Bristol look set to be taking on the Pitcher and Piano venue on the harbourside. BristolLive reported on April 2 that the restaurant and bar would be closing on April 14, after reportedly being bought by another company.
While no company name had been confirmed since the announcement, reports suggest that the team behind the Lounges cafes and bars - which you can find dotted all over Bristol and the surrounding areas - look set to open a new venue in place of Pitcher & Piano.
It is understood that jobs are safe, and anyone who wishes to continue to work at the site will be able to do so when the new company takes over.

The Pitcher & Piano brand is owned by Marston's PLC. The restaurant and bar chain boasts venues in locations such as London, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, Nottingham, Reading, Sheffield, Southampton, Taunton, York, Leeds, and more across the UK. A message to one customer with a booking made for July 2024 at the Bristol venue, seen by Bristol Live, read: "Unfortunately we received the news last week that Pitcher and Piano Bristol has been bought by another company and will be closing down on the 14th of April (13th April being the last day of trading). Therefore we cannot go ahead with your booking.
"If you have paid a deposit we will process a refund. Apologies for the inconvenience. Best wishes, the Pitcher and Piano Bristol Team." A Pitcher and Piano Bristol staff member confirmed the takeover but was unable to provide any more details.
A spokesperson for The Lounges said they look forward to welcoming the Bristol Pitcher & Piano team to the family and confirmed they are in "advanced negotiations regarding a site on Bristol's Harbourside".
