Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO)
In December 2020, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC’s) Epilepsy Program announced the availability of fiscal year 2021 funds under a new 5-year cooperative agreement.
This NOFO aims to address four key areas:
- Improve the social environment for people with epilepsy.
- Strengthen the health system to improve epilepsy care.
- Foster connections between clinical services and community programs.
- Address social determinants of health (e.g., social isolation, food insecurity) to improve quality of life for people with epilepsy.
The NOFO is funding two components:
Component A: an organization that will provide services in at least 25 states. The organization funded to complete Component A strategies will address all of the NOFO content areas.
Component B: 1-3 organizations to work in specific geographic areas (e.g., community, state, region). The organization(s) funded to complete Component B strategies will address one to two content areas that match Component A.
CDC received a record number of applications for this year’s NOFO.
The following organizations are funding recipients for FY2021-2026:
Component A:
- The Epilepsy Foundation
Component B:
- American Epilepsy Society
- Epilepsy Association of Western & Central Pennsylvania
- Epilepsy Foundation New England
