Journalists arrested during protest not allowed treatment

Several journalists who were covering the incident in Mirihana were allegedly attacked by the police and security forces yesterday and a freelance video journalist who was attacked was also arrested.

The journalist Sanjeewa Gallage who was assaulted said that he was not allowed to go to a hospital.

Meanwhile, Senior Police Spokesman Ajith Rohana said that journalist has the right to report any incidents and investigations is also underway to identify the reason of attack on journalists during the protest.
