An eye mask that shoppers claim blocks out 100 per cent of light when you are trying to doze off has been reduced in price on Amazon.

As the nights begin to get lighter and the days get longer, many people might find it tricky dozing off at night. Similarly, those who are light sleepers may be woken up before their alarm due to the sun rising early.

Luckily, there are some simple solutions to this problem, such as black out blinds and relaxing sleep medication. One reliable source, in particular, is an eye mask.

This HM Halo Blackout Sleep Mask is one solid choice for dozing off during the summer months and the best thing is, it's currently on sale. This blackout eye mask has been reduced by 15 per cent on Amazon, down from £9.99 to just £8.49 - a total saving of £1.50.

This mask is the number one best seller on Amazon for sleep masks and over 9,000 of them have been purchased in the last month alone.

This eye mask has a flexible design that moulds to your face to block out 100 per cent of the light and keep you sleeping long after the sun is up. The product developers said this mask is a "great choice for night shift workers, frequent flyers and those who are sensitive to light".

Sleep peacefully in any weather or time of day with this eye mask

The mask is designed to not allow any pressure on your eyes to prevent any irritation and stop those with lash extensions dealing with any fall-out. It also comes with a hygienic pouch so you can take it on the go and travel anywhere you want with your new best friend.

Shoppers have been raving about this eye mask as they rated it an impressive 4.6 stars out of five on average. One happy customer wrote: "I recently purchased this Blackout Sleep Mask, and it has truly transformed my nightly routine. As someone who values a good night's sleep, I can confidently say that this sleep mask has exceeded my expectations and significantly improved my sleep quality.

"One of the key features that attracted me to this product is its ability to block out 100% of light. The impact of complete darkness on sleep quality cannot be overstated. Wearing this mask to bed has not only helped me fall asleep faster, but it has also increased my REM slow-wave sleep, leading to a more restorative and rejuvenating rest.

"The positive effects on melatonin levels are remarkable. By preventing any light from reaching my eyes, the 100% Blackout Sleep Mask has successfully boosted my melatonin production. This hormone is essential for regulating the sleep-wake cycle, and I have noticed a significant improvement in my ability to maintain a consistent and natural sleep pattern."

Another said: "Amazing product, very comfortable, reasonable price, blocks out all light, only ever lets a tiny sliver in near the nose if it falls out of where it should be placed but easily moved back to a point where all light is blocked out and eyes can fully open well inside, eyes are completely comfortable and don't squash against anything."

This mask promises to block out 100 per cent of the light in your room or on your flight

And a third added: "I swapped from a cheap silk mask to this and believe it to be a great decision. This has blocked out light like I’ve never had before. It could be bright and sunny outside but this blacks it out. As you can see from the photos it comes with a pouch to store them in during the day (or night if you work at night) Admittedly from my photo you can see a couple of the letters have scratched off. Due to moving around in the night and my current pillow case. No issue as it’s an eye mask. The wrinkle marks you can see are because it’s kept in the pouch in one position. These disappear after applying to your face. It is very sturdy and you are able to tighten it using the blue cord as you can see. It sets very comfortable on the nose and eyes. As far as I know you need to hand wash this so please do not put in the washing machine. I would recommend this for anyone who is bothered by the slightest of lights. I know I am!"

A fourth noted: "Very comfortable to wear, I like the antibacterial envelope to keep it in. On the downside, the elastic strap is already stretching - could do with a more robust strap. Otherwise very good."

Not every shopper was impressed with this eye mask, with one noting how thick the padding was inside. They said: "This mask does shut out the light quite effectively. However, the padding is quite thick, and I sometimes struggle to get comfortable when lying on my side. It can also get quite hot. It's good for getting off to sleep if it's not completely dark in the bedroom, but I have often woken up in the middle of the night and had to take it off to get back to sleep. So not perfect."

Another review noted that the mask didn't allow enough space for them either, writing: "I wear gas permeable contact lenses (very bad eyesight). The mask didn’t allow sufficient space between it and the eye so it was resting on my closed eyelid. I wake up with sore eyes do I had to ditch it. This one had a faint but unpleasant smell. I have been looking for an eye mask for years that allows the required space. It may be fine for most people but not good for me."
