The Scottish Cup is on the back burner and it’s all about the Premiership title run in now as Celtic and Rangers sprint for the line.

Hoops fans reckon they are in good shape with Daizen Maeda set for a miraculous return from injury. But Rangers fans have got their mojo back following their Hampden win against Hearts. David Bryce, Troon, said: “I never thought I would say this however I am praying that Maeda is back from injury ASAP. He is a poor footballer, however his energy and work rate cannot be understated. Every other winger at the club bar James Forrest is hopeless so if Maeda returns it would be a huge boost.”

Gordon Ashley, Ayr, said: “It is no surprise that Joe Hart is wanted back at Man City. The guy is a complete professional and the best keeper in Scotland, while Jack Butland has reverted back to the calamity that saw him on championship sub benches with his comical shows against Celtic and Ross County.” Robert McEwan, Mount Vernon, said: “I hope Brendan has drummed it into the players to play at their best in next five games. We don't need favours from other teams. Win them all and the Scottish Cup final will be a nice day out.”

The race could go down to the wire and Kenny Wilson, Moffat, said: “So Andrew Lamb says Celtic fans are showing their fear of a resurgent Rangers. I almost choked on my cornflakes. The same team that’s taken two points out of a possible nine in their last three league games? Oh I forgot to add they beat their little brothers in the semi who always lie down to them anyway.”

Sam Morton, Edinburgh, said: “Caller Andrew Lamb complains about Celtic fans always 'bleating' about Rangers rather than talking about their own team, yet he does the exact same thing with Celtic. If you don’t like the Old Firm squabbling maybe it’s time you changed allegiances yet again. There are two big clubs in my home city that you could try next.”

Scott McAdam, Partick, said: “I see Hearts are going on a last day mission against Rangers. Is that to see how many goals they will ship against their big cousins yet again this season?”

Meanwhile James McClean, Rothesay, said: “Another week goes by and we have another manager in Stephen Robinson spouting about beating Rangers. Last week it was another Steven called Naismith who was bumping his gums about the same thing. Look what happened to Hearts, they did not even turn up. It beggars belief where they get the rubbish comments from, they just make Rangers certainties.”

Finally, the SPFL’s decision to pull up the ladder on Highland League champs Buckie Thistle has caused uproar. John Davidson, Kirkintilloch, said: “What is the league playing at? At the 11th hour they slam the door shut on Buckie Thistle and the chance of another Highlands club making it into the top divisions of Scottish football.”
