Philippe Clement had a warm embrace with Lawrence Shankland after his side downed Hearts at Tynecastle - and fans on social media are wondering what was said between the two.

Rangers picked up a key 1-0 win on the road thanks to Abdallah Sima's first-half strike that kept them in touch with Celtic and ended a four-game winning run for the Jambos. Clement was amongst the players celebrating after the full-time whistle and Sky cameras followed the boss around the Tynecastle turf. He had a firm handshake for most of the Hearts players, but it was a different matter when he came to Shankland.

Post-match footage caught the boss giving the Tynecastle skipper a warm hug before having a word in his ear. Clement was managing in Belgium while Shankland played there for a season with Beerschot, and the Scotland striker has frequently been linked with a move to Ibrox this season.

And tongues were set wagging when the two hugged as one fan wrote on X: 'Clement say something to Shankland there?' while another punter added: 'A big cuddle for Shankland by Clement, he's your man.'
