Ianis Hagi reminded the Romanian media what he's got when he turned up to training like a man possessed - and his dad Gheorghe says his career at Rangers is FAR from over.

Hagi is enduring a frustrating spell at Alaves but the media in his homeland report he has made his point to boss Edward Iordanescu, amid fears he could miss out on the plane to Euro 2024. Hagi and co face Northern Ireland on Friday before a clash with Colombia on Tuesday and Hagi is training with his country, despite not starting for his loan club since mid January.

Son of legend Gheorghe, Hagi's situation is a big deal in his homeland and his lack of minutes in Spain has led to plenty of debate over whether he should be called up for the Euros where they kick off against one of the playoff winners on June 17. But AS in his homeland say any fears have been eased as he turned up to training and made his point.

AS in Romania say he 'was among the most active players of the national team,' putting on a 'total show.' They add he 'scored several goals and managed spectacular dribbles.' A video of the training session was uploaded to the Romania YouTube channel and Hagi can be seen leading his teammates on a merry dance throughout.

Hagi still has two years to run on his contract at Rangers and could return to Ibrox in the summer to be reassessed by Philippe Clement. An impressive Euros could go a long way to playing him into contention for a starring role next season.

Some reports have indicated he wants to leave permanently in the summer, but proud dad Gheroghe says that is simply 'false' He said: "He comes after a year-long injury, don't forget! So we can't see Ianis at his best now, but next year we will see him at his best. He still has a contract with Rangers, he is only on loan at Alaves. So he has a contract with Rangers, that's for sure. I read that he wouldn't have wanted Rangers either, which is false."
