BBC Hairy Bikers star Si King shared a heartfelt update about what could be his final project with late partner, Dave Myers.

The 57-year-old chef took to Instagram to talk about their latest book, 'Fast and Fresh', which has left fans emotional.

In a touching video on the account he once shared with his late best friend, an emotional Si shared the news of the cookbook's release, a project that his buddy was incredibly proud of, reports the Mirror.

He said: "Hello everyone it's Si here. Fast and Fresh from The Hairy Dieters is available tomorrow. Thank you if you pre-ordered, it's hugely appreciated."

The post saw Si reminiscing about working on the project with Dave, describing how both loved creating the book. He mentioned: "It was a book that Dave and I really loved working on, so yeah there's 80 delicious and easy recipes, easy as I know we're all pushed for time these days. I don't know how that happens but we just are aren't we."

Offering a glimpse into what fans can expect, Si continued to reflect on the joy of working on this cookbook. He stated: "It's a lovely book and we had the greatest of joy working on it together. Dave was very proud of it, so here it is."

Showing appreciation for the unwavering support from fans, Si thanked them for their continuous backing, assuring it "doesn't go unnoticed". He ended the message saying: "Lots of love and I hope you enjoy Fast and Fresh."

The pair's 383,000 followers quickly filled the comments section with heartfelt messages. One fan commented: "You are such a lovely guy. Dave was lucky to have you in his life too! " Another shared their support, saying: "Hope you're holding up lad."

Their book marked one of the last projects they worked on together before Dave's untimely death at 66 this February. Earlier in the week, Si joined Dave's widow Liliana, along with family and friends, for an emotional tribute evening to honour his memory.

Reflecting on the poignant event, Si posted pictures of the night, captioning: "We had a wonderful evening reminiscing about our dear friend and the room was filled with love as you'd expect Dave would have loved it."

He also extended his gratitude to those who were present: "Thank you to all that could make it you made it very special."

Dave Myers, one half of the beloved Hairy Bikers duo, sadly passed away after a courageous fight against cancer, which he first disclosed to fans in 2022 during their 'Hairy Bikers - Agony Uncles' podcast.

In an interview with The Guardian, he explained his decision to keep his illness out of the public eye, citing his desire to avoid being the subject of internet searches and receiving unwanted advice, saying: "I don't want to be judged yet".

At that time, Dave was undergoing chemotherapy and had taken a break from filming their popular series, 'The Hairy Bikers Go West'.
