This has happened to me. I was on my notice period last year and honestly, I didn't want to do that. But, I didn't have an option to leave. Here's what I did instead: + Made a list of skills I am learning every day at my job + Arranged it from the worst to the best + Started working on the worst daily for 30 minutes For me, the worst skill was- communication. I used a lot of filler words - 'like'; 'ummm'; 'you know', etc For 30 days, I used to stand in front of the mirror and speak in English (avoiding the filler words) as much as possible. By the end of my notice period, there was a lot of improvement in my communication skills. This is how you work.

Feedback is a valuable tool for personal and professional development. Don't hesitate to ask for it from supervisors, peers, or mentors in each of your temporary or contract roles. This feedback can provide insights into areas where you excel and where you may need improvement. It also demonstrates your commitment to growth and can help shape the direction of your personal branding efforts.

We live in increasingly uncertain times. The growth of the gig economy and the demise of most "jobs for life" has meant career building can be a stressful process. As a freelancer, always have feelers out looking for the next role. Overlap roles if you can to ensure continuity of income, but always nurture good professional relationships as you never know where the next big opportunity may come from. Network, network, network! Never burn bridges though. Regardless of how badly you may have been treated. Publicly voicing your displeasure with a former employer, never reflects well on you.
