We are thrilled that the 15th ASDA'A BCW Arab Youth Survey has been shortlisted in three categories at the PRWeek Global Awards 2024. The survey is the region’s most-awarded thought leadership platform, offering insights into the hopes, attitudes, and aspirations of the region’s largest demographic: its over 200 million youth. In a region with 77% #internet penetration, where each user has an average of 8.4 social media accounts, two-thirds of Arab youth grapple with digital addiction, according to the latest ASDA'A BCW Arab Youth Survey 2023. While being active on social media may help enhance connection, increase self-esteem, and improve a sense of belonging, it can also lead to tremendous stress, #FOMO (fear of missing out), comparing your life with edited images, and increased isolation. The survey also found that the aspiration for online fame has surged, with 13% of the surveyed aiming to be “#influencers.” It adds that the region, grappling with high levels of youth #unemployment, must invest in vocational training and quality education for the future workforce.
