Founder & CEO connecting humans through visual stories

I’m noticing a theme. The more #ThoughtLeaders I speak to, the more I hear: ‘Talk less. Listen more.’ In fact, Idealist.org Founder & CEO Ami Dar just gave us all permission to say: ‘I don’t know.’ Ami may be one of the most constructively outspoken critics of the Israel-Palestine War, but he disagrees with the idea that we each have to comment on every issue or controversy – himself included! 😯 It’s actually a bit of a relief for empathy-led #SocialImpact professionals who tend to burn themselves out always trying to take a stand and support others, no? 🎧 Incredible wisdom in Ami’s episode on #SpeakingHumanFirst about what #HumanFirstCommunications looks like through the lens of setting boundaries. Listen here: https://lnkd.in/e2bpSNTw (Spoiler ❗ No one is automatically entitled to your opinion, no matter who you are or how much they want to hear it.)

🤝 This #NationalVolunteerMonth, we'd like to recognize and celebrate a few of the wonderful nonprofits focused on volunteerism in the social-impact sector. Each organization is dedicated to encouraging people to make a positive difference in their communities by getting involved and making an impact. 💙 Reading Partners Reading Partners is a national nonprofit that mobilizes communities to provide students with the proven, individualized reading support they need to read at grade level by fourth grade. Their volunteers provide hour-long tutoring sessions to students— following a structured, evidence-based curriculum developed with an expert team of curriculum advisors. 💙 Village Learning Place The mission of the Village Learning Place is to promote literacy, cultural awareness, and lifelong learning through access for all ages to information, resources, and educational programs.
