In the Americas, most markets have recovered or surpassed the 2019 levels in terms of both the number of passengers carried and the available seat capacity in 2023. Of course, the larger #airtransport markets still contribute the most to the industry’s overall recovery. It is, however, important to note the smaller #aviation markets that have seen the most dynamic rebound, with most of these in Central America. ✈️ Reaching #netzero carbon emissions by 2050 will require collaboration throughout the aviation value chain and beyond. 📈 IATA’s SVP Sustainability and Chief Economist Marie Owens Thomsen regrets that despite the accepted need for #renewable energies, support for fossil fuels continues. 🏛️ Thomsen stresses the need for public support, as she advances that “any good policy that is truly looking to achieve #decarbonization will have to change the investment parameters”. 📰 Read the full interview on Airlines Magazine 👇 https://bit.ly/49WMqEB.

Recent reports indicate a rise in intermittent GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) jamming and spoofing. These disruptions can affect satellite systems that aircraft rely on for positioning, navigation, and timing. But did you know that aircraft are equipped with multiple navigation aids, not just one? These systems are designed to ensure that, in the absence of GNSS signals, pilots can continue to navigate safely and confidently. The safety of all passengers and crew is the aviation industry’s main priority. All aviation stakeholders continue to work together to make GNSS more resilient, ensure traditional navigation systems remain reliable and that aviation remains the safest form of transport.
