🌊 Exciting News for Lifeguards! 🌊 New research has revealed a game-changer in ocean rescue operations: long fins! 🏊♂️ A recent study underscores the significant enhancement long fins bring to lifeguard performance during rescues. Not only do they slash rescue times, but they also combat arm fatigue, offering practical advantages over shorter fins in real-world scenarios. 🚨 What's more, long fins level the playing field, enabling lifeguards with varying aquatic skills to achieve comparable rescue times. 💪 The study also sheds light on the crucial role of leg propulsion in water rescues, especially in the intense, lactic anaerobic environment lifeguards face. Let's embrace these findings to bolster ocean safety and empower lifeguards worldwide! 🌎 Read the full article by Isaac Ignacio Rodríguez, Roberto Barcala-Furelos, Ezequiel Rey Eiras and Marcos Sanmartin Montes https://lnkd.in/dQaHZcQC #OceanRescue #LifeguardPerformance #ResearchInsights

📣📣📣 New article suggests that the Flexion Relaxation Ratio (FRR) could be a valuable tool in assessing patients with radiculopathy and lower back pain (LBP). They found that higher FRR values in these patients may indicate dysfunctional neuromotor control during rehabilitation. This insight could help personalize treatments and predict outcomes more accurately. 💡💪 Read the full article by Marijan Peharec et al. here 👇 https://lnkd.in/dTTyCBSH #HealthcareResearch #PatientCare #SpinalHealth

🌟 New Research Alert! 🌟 Study found that male novice Marathon des Sables athletes experienced metabolic changes, like enhanced fat oxidation, with anthocyanin-rich New Zealand blackcurrant extract. Interestingly, female athletes didn't show the same response, possibly due to varying intrinsic fat oxidation levels. Further cohort studies are needed to confirm these findings 💪🔬 You can find the full article here: https://lnkd.in/dMr3cGxk Mark Willems, Patrick W. Bray, Holly Bassett, Tilly Spurr and Andrew T. New findings from our latest article published on core stability training! The results demonstrate that the hollowing maneuver led to a significant increase in the thickness of key muscles compared to the bracing maneuver across various exercises. Notably, the bird dog and side plank, when combined with hollowing, showed the greatest increase, indicating their potential efficacy in core stability training.
