The United States Agency for Global Media (USAGM) encompasses all U.S. civilian international broadcasting, including the Voice of America (VOA), Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL), Office of Cuba Broadcasting (OCB)—Radio and TV Martí, Radio Free Asia (RFA), the Middle East Broadcasting Networks (MBN)—Radio Sawa and Alhurra Television, and the Open Technology Fund (OTF). USAGM broadcasters distribute programming in 63 languages to an estimated weekly audience of 420 million people via radio, TV, the internet and other new media. USAGM works to serve as an example of a free and professional press, reaching a worldwide audience with news, information, and relevant discussions.

The war in Ukraine has restricted media activities in the country, making it a dangerous place for journalists to work. Journalists from RFE/RL's Ukrainian Service have encountered many threats yet they remain committed to telling the stories of war to the world.
