Today, on the World Stroke Day, we are all united and wish to raise awareness about this critical health issue and the importance of stroke prevention. Greece, unfortunately, is not performing well. According to the Greek Ministry of Health, Greece has amongst the highest stroke mortality and disability rates in Europe, with 57,000 stroke cases annually, 11,300 fatalities and 14,000 disabilities. Given demographic, life style, and epidemiology trends population, these numbers are expected to rise further in the future, hence increasing health, humanistic, and economic burden. The time for action is now! We stress the significance of stroke prevention through the F.A.S.T. approach: Face – Arms – Speech – Time Early recognition of these signs is crucial. Stroke is preventable through a healthy lifestyle, involving exercise, a balanced diet, normal weight, and risk management. Kalteq S.A. is committed to advancing stroke prevention and treatment, offering innovative solutions to enhance outcomes. Let's join forces to raise awareness, save lives, and stress the importance of stroke prevention. #Kalteq #GreaterThan #Stroke #WorldStrokeDay #FAST #HealthAwareness #StrokePrevention #StayHealthy #SpreadTheWord #StrokeTreatment #Interventionalneuroradiology #Mechanicalthrombectomy

Take care of your heart ❤️ ! World Heart Day is a reminder to everyone around the world to take care of their /our hearts NCDs - CVDs Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are diseases that are not spread through infection or through other people, but are typically caused by unhealthy behaviours. Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are the leading cause of death globally. Cardiovascular Diseases (CVDs) are responsible for about half of the global death from Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD), with over 17 million deaths per annum globally (that’s 31 % of global deaths according to WHO) and this is expected to increase to about 23 million by 2030. Over three quarters of CVD deaths take place in low- and middle-income countries. Cardiovascular Diseases (CVDs) are a class of diseases that affect the heart and/or blood vessels. CVD includes heart failure, stroke, hypertensive heart disease, cardiomyopathy, congenital heart disease, valvular heart disease amongst others. Most cardiovascular diseases can be prevented by addressing behavioural risk factors such as tobacco use, unhealthy diet and obesity, physical inactivity and harmful use of alcohol. Since 2000, every 29 September, the World Heart Federation (WHF), the World Health Organization (WHO) and The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) have been raising awareness of cardiovascular diseases, the leading cause of death worldwide. Let's talk about obesity & your cardiovascular health #CVH. Did you know that obesity can directly and indirectly increase cardiovascular diseases #CVD? Obesity can directly affect how the cells in your blood vessels and heart muscle work, and it can indirectly increase your risk factors for CVDs like diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidaemia. With obesity being a complex disease and maintaining weight loss being challenging, prevention is the key to tackling this disease and safeguarding the CVH of Europeans. On this #WorldObesityDay, we call on EU policymakers to prioritise the health of Europeans by committing to supportive health policies that focus on prevention and early intervention. The @World Heart Federation drafted this joint paper with the @World Obesity Federation sharing mechanistic insights and management strategies. We encourage you to read it.
