It was a pleasure to talk with Christopher Snyder and Nan Ransohoff about the important work that they are doing to create a market to accelerate the development of carbon removal solutions. Chris Snyder is an Economics Professor at Dartmouth and co-founder of the Market Shaping Accelerator (his co-founder, Michael Kremer, won the Nobel Prize in 2019). Nan leads Climate for Stripe and Frontier. It's an incredible partnership that all started from a conversation of "what if" during a walk in Glasgow. Dartmouth College The Arthur L. 💡 “We've seen too many times that the development of brilliant technology, brilliant solutions, ends up failing due to so many bottlenecks. With climate change, we need more of these ideas to come to fruition outside of the academic setting.” In the latest episode of Tom Raftery’s Climate Confident Podcast, Planet Positive Lab directors Dr. Micol Chiesa Churchill and Christiaan de Koning, PhD share their vision for their new climate venture lab—operated by Founders Factory, hosted by the University of Oxford. Micol & Christiaan share insights into: ⭐️ Their backgrounds as PhDs at Oxford, and realising the opportunity for a programme to help academic ideas get off the ground ⭐️ Who the programme is for (anyone with a link to Oxford - students, faculty, alumni, etc) ⭐️ Three things they are looking for - commitment (this isn’t a short term project), passion (you’re not just here to make money), technical ability (scientific backing to your idea) Listen to the full podcast via the link below 👇 David Hickson | Jamie Rowles | henry lane fox | Laura Moross | Lee Bernasconi | Simon Lovick | Kelli Corney | henry lane fox | Planet Fund #climatetech #climatechange #accelerator #venture #founders

Check out Katy Raworth talk on doughnut economics! Came out with a feel there's something more beyond the argument of "there is no political consensus for degrowth". The key question is: who is going to pay for the climate and ecological crisis? global warming has unequal geographical and social impacts, and to fight against it requires addressing social justice issues. #postgrowth https://lnkd.in/eMSvEjMg

If you're working to transform business, finance or economics to make things sustainable (or better yet regenerative), you're not alone. In fact, in the 1970s, a group of trailblazing scientists paved the way for so much of what we're all now doing. The story of Donella Meadows and the team behind Limits to Growth, is our story. They faced similar challenges, hitting up against the interests that are wedded to endless growth on a finite planet. It's emotional to hear, but it's an education on everything #NewEconomics #PostGrowth #DoughnutEconomics #WellbeingEconomy. https://lnkd.in/eeQXuGRD
