Last week VIOUSLY sponsored a breakfast with the Independent Publishers Alliance. (Bringing it all together).
Viously have been doing great work with publishers supporting them across everything that affects video performance, be it content advisory, video coverage, site speed and efficiency, CMP and consent. The list goes on affecting compound improvements through long term partnerships.
The aim of the breakfast was to discuss and inform member publishers on best practice around the 4 fundamentals of making video work for a publisher's website - strategy, content, technical and monetisation.
Great fun and a lovely breakfast indeed. One thing that jumped out and has maybe not been communicated that clearly, was the IAB re-classification of video.
Viously showed this image from the IAB focussing on what is Instream, Accompanying Content and Outstream (standalone/no content) - all of which has differing value to buyers and advertisers.
Much debate ensued, working through solutions and ideas to offer the attending publishers a view to make the most of their video inventory.
The session was incredibly constructive in a great atmosphere, publishers not afraid to share problems, with other publishers looking to help solve them.
