I just come out this question: Shall our society redefine first advanced civilisation country: I can think of : 1. Facilities, greenery, pollution control - the look 2. Community Health level, heart /mind healthy level, community culture healthy level, education level, self esteem level, self awareness level, self care level etc. 3. Law/legislation to cover all areas. Some of them are not in the inventions yet. With our fast growing economy, law enforcement need to cope up with these. 4. Personal level of manners in community reflection of healthy level of community. 5. Marriage rate (it seems being in a good relationship can improve health outcomes) 6. Death rates- hospital facilities, doctor and nurse perfectionism; curing disease rate in elderly.. means how many elderly people have been saved. Child, infant youth should be eliminated at zero percent. 7. Stress levels, depression levels, anxiety levels l, happiness levels are all part of these measures. What else please ☺️

That's a sentence from Nicholas Kristof's thoughtful analysis of American healthcare. And it points to the connection between my current work, as a writer, podcaster, and parents, and my past work as a Registered Nurse. The podcasts and articles I create about male mental health, for instance, are directly linked to a desire to decrease deaths, to improve wellness and health outcomes, to heal families and communities and break the chains of intergenerational trauma. My book, Building Boys, may not seem to be health-related, but helping families and kids thrive -- that IS linked to health. Our relationships are a source of healing and well-being hiding in plain sight – one that can help us live healthier, more fulfilled, and more productive lives,” said U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy. “Given the significant health consequences of loneliness and isolation, we must prioritize building social connection the same way we have prioritized other critical public health issues such as tobacco, obesity, and substance use disorders. Last month, The Economist published "In praise of America's car addiction" (the title being self-explanatory, link here: https://econ.st/3v8NJkU). As a physician and an urban planning enthusiast, I couldn’t help but think how the premise of this article directly contradicts many of the principles required for a healthy society and vibrant cities.
