Romance rumours have been swirling around Amber Gill after she recently hit it off with London-based influencer Nakita Johnson.
The pair of women attended a Colour Wow Hair event on Monday, April 22, where they sat next to one another, and shared a snap of their budding bond on social media. The black and white shot, shared in both of their respective Instagram stories on Thursday, April 25, features Nakita and Amber standing side by side.
Nakita looked sensational with a short black pixie cut and a jaw-dropping strapless black gown, as she stared straight into the camera. Meanwhile, Amber turned heads with a mini dress, her braids worn down as she looked at the influencer with a smile and an affectionate gaze.
While Nakita captioned the picture as proof of a "hard launch" with the Love Island winner, Amber let her followers know her new pal was "the best dinner guest to sit next to." This was enough to ignite romance rumours online, with fans keen to know if she'd finally found love again after her breakup from ex-Arsenal defender Jen Beattie.
Amber's relationship with Jen was her first romance in the limelight following her victory in the fifth series of Love Island alongside rugby union player Greg O'Shea. During her appearance in the ITV2 reality series in 2019, the 26-year-old admitted it was "painfully obvious" that she was attracted to girls. Jen and Amber went public with their relationship in 2022.
But after 11 months, the pair announced they went their separate ways with a source speaking exclusively to the Daily Mail in early December, 2023, assuring they had decided to remain close friends after the split. "Amber and Jen have decided to end their relationship. They remain good friends and the split was amicable but they just grew apart after struggling to spend time together", the insider said. "There's still a lot of love between them and Amber will always hold a special place in her heart for Jen but ending their romance was the best decision for their lives right now."
However, just as fans were probably hoping to see Amber Gill finally find a new match, Nakita herself cleared up all doubt, insisting they were just friends. Speaking about their joined picture to The Sun, she said: "It was an innocent playful caption made in jest, on some great pictures captured by my photographer."
"Amber and I, amongst many others content creators, were invited to spend a fabulous evening celebrating Colour Wow’s latest product release and we just so happened to be seated next to each other, had a great catch up and took a few pictures together before the dinner and festivities of the evening", Nakita then clarified she was "super proud of Amber and all her accomplishments as a fellow content creator" and "always a great person to be seated next to at events", echoing her pal's own words.
